new model of inclusive urban development.
Toronto Tomorrow spans four volumes and 1,156 pages—a comprehensive vision for a city designed to enhance the quality of life for the people of Toronto, Ontario.
Developed by Sidewalk Labs for the Toronto Port Lands, the proposal explores how to build a technology-enabled, inclusive, and climate-positive urban future.
Leigh led the content strategy and design of the plan as part of Sidewalk Labs’ in-house design team. The creative process began with parsing technical documents and turning them into a compelling manifesto, structured through a layered content and visual hierarchy that reflected the project's bold, historic ambition.
Leigh was Sidewalk Lab’s design team lead for the project and managed three contract designers, coordinated closely with Heatherwick Studio’s 12-person architecture team, BBB’s team of five architects and planners, a dedicated map designer, and a drone photographer. The project was developed in close collaboration with Eddie Opara and his team at Pentagram.
This landmark publication was authored by Sidewalk Labs, the Alphabet company focused on reimagining cities through innovation and human-centered design.
